More generally I believe that should be "When life gives you Lemons, make robots" :P

Due to MiniDozer's generally poor performance and reliability at the last few events, I decided to give it another shot:

The key upgrade was speed... lots of it :P Both the drive and lifter are faster, although the trade off is less torque. The wheelbase has also been made shorter and wider to improve steering. Doesn't have much of an impact against ants anymore, but should at least be able to keep up with them now!

Here's a video of some testing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtD0YhD ... e=youtu.be

It's the same motors that Pete uses, but double speed hacked (removed all but the first gear in the train) and it's using a NanoTwo with a Lemon Rx running off a 60mAh single cell to control it all. Really fun just to drive around, but yet to see how it does in combat.

Also finally fixed Sir Lift-a-Lot after the Lemming's round against Randar, bringing me to 4 working Nanos now :)

Seeing as Spini's spinner had got so unbalanced that it was almost useless, I decided it was time for an upgrade:

Image

It's a single tooth blade based on Why Wait?'s, made from 2mm mild steel. Managed to get it so nicely balanced that it only starts to vibrate around a little when on full throttle. :)
I need to tweak the motor mount a little as the blade currently sits about 2mm off the ground, meaning it can't bite scoops well yet. The bite seems to be pretty small most of the time sadly, though when it does get a good bite it's pretty impressive; threw Sir Lift-a-lot about a foot in the air in one test. I think the lack of bite's just due to the high speed and small diameter of the blade; hopefully it'll improve as work continues..

nice! i'd like to see a nano spinner throw another nano out from the middle of the arena. :)

Seeing as spini's was a bit of a disapointment, i decided to build a new nano spinner:

Image

It's exactly on 25g without armour, so may have to weight save a little

Image

I haven't tested it yet as the RX isn't binding for some reason... though i did test the blade first and it can tear up the milk bottle armour i usually use so that's a good start :)
