Yeah, I had a similar problem with Spini when the power line to the brushless ESC broke...
For any future nano spinner's, I'm tempted just to stick with brushed servo motors run from a servo board, as those little brushless ones are not cheap and seem a little on the overkill side (not that that's necessarily bad :P). Plus Inertia XT seems to do fine with it's brushed motor spinner.

Yes I have been thinking about that idea as the DT receiver I use not only has the two H bridge output but also a 2A single direction motor drive output all built in.

Just got some new 6mm gearmotors arrived from Aliexpress.
They are much shorter 19mm including shaft as opposed to 24.75mm on the existing ones.
This should make getting two in the 50mm limit much easier.
They are also much faster at 1250 rpm which means they don't need modifying but could present me with some control problems.

What's the torque like on them? MiniDozer 2 is fast but can barely turn it's own wheels...

They are only 25 gm cm so probably not too good for pushing so not going to fit them to n.
The motors are £3.24 each but delivery is £23.83 on top.
If you buy ten then they come out at £65 including delivery which is £6.50 each or half what I paid for the ones in alsoran.

Ok so I said I wouldn't fit the new motors to n but they did seem to have a bit more torque than I was expecting so I knocked up another 4 wheel drive unit. Sorry about the tyre colour I was trying for a matching red but they came out pink so maybe black isn't so bad.

Here it is in action as you can see it is quite lively but with the very small wheels it is just about controllable even with my geriatric reflexes.

As it stands without armour and charging socket it is 15.1 gms.
