N20 motor rating

Does anybody know what Amperage N20 motors are rated to? I'm wondering whether a 5A dual esc would be suitable for 4WD. I did see a listing on ebay stating that the motors stall current is 1.1A, but I know that ebay ratings aren't particularly reliable.

5A is more than enough, typically N209s stall between 0.4A (Rare but I've had some in this low down in power, and 1.6A (Pololu HP motors). The regular ones that tend to be picked up generally seem to cluster around 0.8A.

Sorry for the dumb question but how does one measure the stall current?
Is it simply a case of connecting a DMM in series with the motor, powering up, then stopping it from turning?

I have a cheapo autoranging Neoteck DMM and I'm comfortable using it for voltage/resistivity/continuity testing but I've always been a bit fuzzy about measuring current.

Pretty much yeah.

Though I have a benchtop power supply with a current readout that is what I actually use for this kinda thing. It's also a current limiting one which is handy for testing things too.
