How AWS comps work

Post by Spaceman »

Quick question

How does the AWS comps work from a win lose perspective?

What I mean is I understand the double elimination in the group stage. But once the final is reached how dose it work then? are the win/ loses from the group carried over? is it effectively another group stage?

The wins and loses are carried forward to the final.
The winners of each group go into the winners side of the final chart and the second place of each group goes into the losing side.
We also cross the halves over so winner of group1 meets second place of group4 and so on as per below.

Yeah, effectively every robot gets two lives for the entire comp. If you come first in the group it means you haven't lost a fight yet, and if you come second in the group you have lost once. This is then carried forward to the final sheet. One ant will make the final having not lost a fight yet, and this one must then be beaten twice by his opponent (who will have lost once previously) in order to lose the title.
