DX5 over DX4

Post by bitternboy »

After years of making do with a 40MHz system, and planet 5 and an E-Flite transmitter, I thought I'd finally buy myself a decent transmitter. My question is, what, other than model memory (which is somewhat needless for robots) and a significant price boost, does the spektrum DX5 have over the DX4? It doesn't seem to have much going except that most people tend to have a DX5. Is it a question of build quality?

Dx5 has a few more features than Dx4 and at first glance it is a bit "smarter".
However, I'm not convinced there is much to chose in build quality.
There is a wierd problem with the Dx5 power switch sometimes which I still haven't got round to fixing on mine.
The Dx4 I bought for Make-A-Bot just works :)

BTW Dx5e doesn't have model memories, I know the Dx6i does, not sure whether there is any Dx5 that does.
