Hello!
I was wondering has anyone experienced this problem?
I've found an unusual servo perfect for the Srimech of my Wild Thing project:

Only problem being I can find it from one shop & they don't ship outside the north American continent.
Any suggestions or experiences relevant to the problem?
Oh & I already know the 'give up' option btw. Don't post it.

One suggestion would be finding someone who lives in America, having it shipped to them, then having them send it to you - that's how I got my Portal hoodie. Alternatively, you could try contacting the site and asking if it would be possible to make a shipment to you as a one-off thing, but they may well refuse or try to charge you a huge amount for it.
Also, there was no need for that last sentence. While the Internet does spawn a lot of idiots who hide behind anonymity in order to act tough or be rude, thankfully that sort of thing doesn't really go on on these forums. We're all lovely and friendly here .

There are certain websites that deal with this. They give you an address within the States to get your parcel sent to and then they send it on to you outside the US. The Gadget Show featured one. You tend to have to pay a one-off $5 sign up fee, but probs worth it.
Here's a couple of options.

Looking at that servo it only has 150 gm/cm torque so it would be hard pressed to lift the robot if the arm is longer than 1 cm.
Micron radio do a 2.5 gm blue arrow servo with a 240gm/cm torque but even that is a bit weak.

Just found this one which has 800gm/cm torque

You're right, Scott. Sorry all but it is a pet hate of mine to ask for extraordinary and get given the obvious. Bezerk button territory.
I'm trying to mobilize my Wild Thing mini bot.

The back square alone is 20*20mm. The blue arrow servo would be too deep, the resulting arm more vunerable to the spinner beneath & ruin the aesthetics (Murder, Arson & Jay walking )
Swings & roundabouts, though. That notch is 10mm away from the joint, the arm itself is only 30mm long & by shape there is little chance of the arm taking the weight dead on flat. The machine isn't 35mm any direction with the arm down.
Yes, I know Peter. Weston bet it wouldn't work either.
Peter, I did consider it & I respect your experience & opinions but there is a detail I don't know if you know:peterwaller wrote:Looking at that servo it only has 150 gm/cm torque so it would be hard pressed to lift the robot if the arm is longer than 1 cm.

I hope you get that going! Would be great to see, even if all the parts have to be less than they could be to get it mobilised.
