If you are set on using said brushed motor for something you might as well use it for a spinner if you can find a light, brushed ESC. I expect it's perfectly doable with some weight saving although the performance will probably not be ideal.drills don't work as weapons
As for doing robots on the cheap, I'm afraid it's just rather an expensive business so you might as well put in a decent sum of money into a first robot and it will pay off.
