So stick to full rotation hack
Then get some stronger or motors then use them as I get better at making them?
Is a brushed motor any good for a spinner?

Trying t do this on the cheap isn't quite working is it?
I've got a spare brushed so I may give it a go for a drill thing maybe? Just experiment with different weapon types I think :)

If you are set on using said brushed motor for something you might as well use it for a spinner if you can find a light, brushed ESC. I expect it's perfectly doable with some weight saving although the performance will probably not be ideal.

As for doing robots on the cheap, I'm afraid it's just rather an expensive business so you might as well put in a decent sum of money into a first robot and it will pay off.

Would that mean the brushed motor would work in reverse?
I'll buy some cheap servos off eBay methinks and test this theory
