DT Project complete. Feedback please...

Post by Adam Hargreaves »

Hi all. Thought i'd post this here as the Antweight thread probably gets more attention. I've posted photos of the ATR (Autonomous Training Robot) below for comment. I'm gonna add a couple of small wedges between the transducers tomorrow, but other than that, it's complete. (in theory) it chases and detects another moving Ant, in order to provide driving practice. (some electronics need tweaking, but that's irrelevant)

WHat do you think to it? Is it attractive? Would you buy one? Any other comments suggestions?

Cheers folks. deadline is next Thurs for feedback (you can move the thread then Admin if you want)

Edit: oops forgot to attach pictures!!!

Looks great both inside and out. Very professional looking.
How fast is it?
I'd get one, but would probably end up fighting it in the Mini sumo as opposed to practicing with it

@Dave26: it's driven by SD200 gearboxes, so it's that kind of speed.

@Hib: improvement opportunities: faster gearboxes, rear opponent/line detection, better armour, lithium batteries, 4WD etc etc...

@ Josh, I don't get it back till October, so you can have it then if you want (it doesn't actually work, lol-it should but it doesn't)

@mod feel free to move/delete this thread-I don't need it now (paperwork was handed in yesterday)

I dunno bout that Josh...my project for GSCE electronics broke on the day of hand-in...I still got a B overall.
As long as its been seen working at some point, the markers dont generally test 'em. Or thats what we were told.

Design is an odd subject, Adams project is more complete than my GCSE one which i got a B for. My AS design was perfect however i got a D, my A level was complete but was quite simple took some retakes and ended up with a B. The advice is learn for the exam  .
