Antweight advice

Post by iain »

I have been experimenting with a fiew ideas for the last week. I have all the radio gear and converted servos.

I built 3 experimental robots which turned out quite well.
My first 2 were flippers and the one i have now is a flame thrower(which i know is against the rules but i only did it for fun.)

Any advice on improveing and what to do next.

Attend an event with them. Nothing is better than actual combat experience for ironing out bugs in designs.

probably the best way to see how you can improve you ants is to look at the competition.
This is usually what I do.
Mainly be cause say the ant weights in the USA focas on kinetic damage while its not so much here. So if i were to compete over there I would focas a fair bit on armour.
Get some dvd's, download the videos on the web and think how your ants would fair to the ones on the screen.

Yep I stand by my word :P
many of the well known ant weight robots over there are spinners.
Over here there is a less percentage of spinners entering competitions. Being able to take care of spinners is usually important, but, if your pusher is wishing to stand a chance over in the west, it best be tuff. As the arena is harder to push something off and off course the silly amount of spinners.

Aint there more spinners in the states because there are more robots in general? I think the ratio of spinners to non-spinners is about the same if you look at the builders database.

901st Post!!!!! i need to get out more!!

I'm with Dave on this its pretty much 50/50 alothou i will admit there spinners are much better than there others. there arenas are geared towards spinner combat i think if someone made a good enough brick bot it'd rule over there, at least thats what i'm hoping should Anto XP work i'll take her over to show them what a real antweight looks like
