I find a 2.2k and a 2.7k together work best.

Dycem comfort is good, but needs frequent replacing. I've heard lint roller is good, but can't find it anywhere.

Failing that, elastic bands are ok. I once even used insoles from my trainers. :D

Is this what you're looking for Duff? http://www.lakelandlimited.com/is-bin/I ... DjMfeEgEQO
If that link doesn't work then go to http://www.lakelandlimited.com and search on clothes roller

To be more precisely, Dycem is an anti-slip solution that used for on zimmer frames to not slip on it. Same with jars, people who can't opend them who needs better grip.
Read more about it on www.Dycem.com

But I like Lint roller much more :)

Lint roller is a bit like a double-sided sticky tape. Dycem isn't exactly sticky but it sure clings to lots of things!
True double-sided sticky tape is really TOO sticky, but does give some fun effects!

What you really need above all is a large surface area in contact with the floor, so wide, soft tyres are the order of the day. The thicker mouse-mat foam is good, especially with elastic band or Dycem "tread" over the top.
Avoid very soft "open cell" foam, since it is just too weak and gets torn apart by the torque of the wheels.
You can make elastic bands sticky by spraying them with WD-40, which attacks the rubber and makes it sticky. Of course the bands need replacing frequently, but at least they're cheap.

Double sided stick tape is only useful until your bot hits debris, dirt, grease, shavings, muck, dust, lint or anything...

Basically things get stuck to the wheels then your grip goes... The lint roller stuff is the same after a fashion, but it can be cleaned...

Hunt out dycem if you can find it.
