Some questions about building an Antweight

Post by SnazzyMadazzy »

Hi,
I am in the process of designing an antweight robots and I am thinking of building it out of polycarbonate, how would I attach the polycarbonate to the chassis? As I am building a flipper could anyone recommend a servo for it and how would I go about attaching the servo to the flipper.
Thanks

Have a look through this guys build diary.

He uses nuts and bolts to attach polycarbonate together. You can also see how his flipper works.

Also this video on YouTube is a very good guide to parts you can use.

Thanks for the links, the video suggests using the Nano two kits however these are currently unavailable. Could you recommend an alternative?

The dasmikro from banggood is working fine for me. Took 3 weeks to arrive in the post. However you need to solder it yourself.

Another someone else recommended to me was this one for each motor:

With these you need to either have two batteries or join the power wires to share 1 battery. Then you will need a mixer or have a mixer built into your transmitter.

Hope this makes sense

Thanks, I will look into buying the DasMikro. How much soldering is required? Also, I am using the Devo 7e transmitter could you recommend a receiver for it that worked with the DasMikro. Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks William,

I think any receiver that matches up to your transmitter will work.

I have a Turnigy i4x that uses ASFDS 2a signal. Which works on the dasmikro.

You need to solder all the wires onto the chip board. So 10 wire. It's pretty fiddly but I had 0 expirence soldering before I tried and I managed it.

Ive been browsing for a while now coming up with a plan for building antweights.

Forgive my completely noob ignorance, but doesnt the DasMikro have a build in receiver that works with the Devo?

I thought the only things you needed were DasMikro/Lemon Rx which their outputs connect to batteries, motors, ESC, kill switch and weapon?

Another alternative are these: https://www.dfrobot.com/product-1487.html

They are relatively cheap, I got mine from a Polish electronics supply website, and you don't have to solder directly to them if you have the right connectors.

I used a couple in Vanguard and they seemed to work. I am hoping to use them in Plan B with a LemonRX but I haven't tried that out yet.

I don't think the DasMikro has a built-in receiver but then again I am also a noob :D .

With regards to attaching the polycarbonate there seems to be a kind of 90 degree bracket. Can anyone link me a bracket? Also could anyone suggest a hinge for the flipper.
