Team Coolspeedbot's robot builds

Post by coolspeedbot »

Decided to make a build diary thats not specific to one robot.

I'll leave a link to the older diary for Killer-wolf here: http://robotwars101.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2439

but to start off this new build diary, let me introduce a new robot to the team...

It's not a joke... My sister named it as well as operate the robot as shown below:

Bunny-Ears uses parts donated/ recycled from Alpha_wolf, Killer-Wolf 1 and Killer-Wolf 1.5, including old battery, motors, polycarb panels, ESCs and old transmitter and receiver.

Looking at servos for use as ESCs for Killer-Wolf, from what I have seen on the forum, I might be able to use these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TowerPro-Micro ... B008Q8Q06G

A recording of a test drive I did with Killer-Wolf 1.5, I soon learned afterwards that one of its ESCs was not working correctly.

Do you mean because it won't stay still?

No it wasn't a zeroing issue, it was causing the right wheel to move slower than the left.

I checked the motors with the spare ESCs, and they work fine. So I had a look at the faulty ESC it looks like my rewiring might be to blame.

Easily done!

If it's not that, check the gear ratios are the same, (and motor voltage rating)

I first thought it was the motors but after using the spare ESCs the issue was gone.
