AWS Committee - Rules Changes

Post by Shakey »

It's no shock that our rules have become outdated and that we have quite a few unwritten rules that need to be added in and even a weightclass to acknowledge (nanoweights).

I'd like to suggest either an AWS committee meeting (considering it looks like the last one was AWS 43) or just a general forum based push to come together and update the ruleset to match what we actually run today.

Thanks,
Alex

Can we sort something out on this. It's unfair to the new people coming into the sport to not be able to see all the rules when they look at the rules list.

I agree we do need to update the rules to include at least the following and I suspect there are others.
Add Nano's.
Up date with the use of antlog.
Arena design especially the size of drop off zones.
To give an idea I have just checked my arena and it is.
61% no drop off.
19.5% low wall.
19.5% no wall.
With short pegs at the end of the no drop off walls.
The main reason we no longer have committee meetings is the lack of time at AWS's so I guess we need to discuss it on the forum.

I think an advised size for dedicated nano arenas would be good, rather than just assuming they'll be using an ant arena.
The rules on arena drop offs definitely need updating given that many people have been pushing for/building arenas with a drop off ratio well under the currently listed 50%.
