brushless motor / esc problem

Post by limpet »

I`m having trouble with running a weapon motor.
I wired it all up fine and it worked fine, but I wanted the motor to go the opposite direction, so I thought it was just a case of swapping round the motor wires. This initially worked, then I cut the motor wires shorter - all the same length - and that worked.
I reassembled the robot and now it spins for about 5 seconds and dies, powering off then back on results in exactly the same happening again.
Any ideas?

Does the ESC have a 'brake' function?

Hmm, I found it on hobbyking

Got no answers I'm afraid... Only to say I got a spares or repairs helicopter from Menkind going cheap, which had exactly the same problem. Would whir for a few seconds, and then - nothing.

Have now bought three different 10A ones cos they had some good offers on and I`ll see how they go.
If its something else at least I`ll have spares.

Yeah.. They're cheap and run SimonK being the main two selling points :L So much better than anything else as they don't stall out on hits or when trying to spin up hard.
