are the tyres available without the wheel hubs? i have some very wide wheel hubs on transit ant and i thought maybe i could put a couple of tyres on each one.

I typo'd the price when I made the topic, actually only £6.50 (Don't business tired kids) :P.

And I'm not sure about selling just the tyres as I can't guarantee they will work with whatever hub you have. I do however have moulds I can set to any wheel width so could simply just run you some thicker tyres?

As they are you can just swap pololu wheels with my wheels and hubs without worrying. I can't make the tyres fit pololu hubs, I did try but couldn't get a quality I was happy with, the softer silicone I use meant that they would come off pololu hubs easily as the rims holding it on were not big enough. Hence why I made my own hubs that have strong rims on the hubs as opposed to moulded into the silicone, it gives a much better tyre that stays on under turning load. :)

I've added some more goodies! Low cost Neoprene wheels and motor mounts!

Check the first post for details! I'll also be stocking motors sometime soon.

will you be selling these at antfreeze Alex? i like the look off those new wheels. what are the grip statistics on these? if they're better than double pololus then i'll be wanting some. ;)

I've ordered motors for you guys, they are the same as I use in most my robots these days. I'll post more details once they are ready. Scales on route to so I can give more accurate weights to things. :D

I'm also ordering more filament colours currently stocking, black, white, red and dark grey and can order in more very quickly as I found a much better supplier. With that, other coloured wheels!

Some good work coming along on the website too so that should be fully functional with some handy features. Some people have already been using this but I can also design as well as print robots for you so if you want a 3D printed robot or parts but don't have the CAD skills that isn't a problem (There isn't time to do anymore past those I have already accepted for Ant freeze but plenty of time for the AWS).

Now stocking switches and motors! :D

The motors are the same as you'd find in Rorys kits and I use them in my own robots so they are combat proven.

Also just realised I missed this (Sorry): "I like the look off those new wheels. what are the grip statistics on these? if they're better than double pololus then i'll be wanting some. "
Gripwise a single silicone tyre has 60% more grip (Tested using Stanley pushing against scales) than a Pololu one. Doubling the width of a tyre gives 10-20% more traction so a single silicone wheel should have more grip than a double pololu. Though the robots own weight distribution will affect these numbers. Doubling wheel width doesn't scale linearly (Ie double the width is not double the traction) as it reduces the pressure per square centimetre of the wheels (Which is where the friction comes from).

Edit: I'm also mulling over some heavier but stronger silicone wheels after the last event, would there be interest in these? It just aims to afford more spinner protection to the hubs. These will be another version for sale not a replacement design.
