A 2WD pusher would be easy provided you could modify the servos correctly and wire it all up (the wires are all very small). Modifying the servos does require the use of surface mount resistors/ 1/8th watt through hole resistors; anything bigger won't fit.

You may have to add some weight to get it up to the 25g, seeing as my one with a flipper is only 12g :L

Can we just ignore the size limit? :P

The size limit for nanoweights if taken from robot sumo is a 2cm cube, which is way too small really (it's a 1cm cube for femto!).

A 2 inch cube limit as proposed by Craig is a logical progression from flea weight, and wouldn't be that bad; My flipper would fit nicely in a 2 inch cube if I moved the self righting horn a bit. I'd happily do away with the size limit as the weight is gonna limit it quite a lot, though it might be worth having something like the 3 inch fleaweight limit, just to stop really wide robots made of something like acetate filling the entire arena (which is something I'd probably do  )

The arena would have to be about half the size of an antweight arena, otherwise fights'll take forever :L

I think Craig might have been a bit ahead of his time in his attempt to start it in 2007... Seeing as tech's moved on a bit/ got cheaper in the last 7 years, I feel it's worth another shot :P At the very least, if you and Will stick a few together we can have a couple of fights at open days :L

no inches! I'm sick of the crossing of metric and imperial.

I had 3 nanoweights at one point, still have a version of Nanto that I've 3d printed, no idea what happened to the others

I'm just more used to using inches for robot dimensions; 10.16cm and 7.6cm is more of a pain to remember. I would round down... but I want my extra millimeter! :P

What servos did you use for drive in your nanos? They look a fair bit faster than the ones I'm using.. Also, what sized battery did you use? My 1 cell 60mAh lipo lasts about 5-10 mins rather than an hour.

(EDIT: On a slight tangent from this tangent, just found a video of a femto sumo robot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2lp7rOKB0c. How the hell you make an autonomous robot that size is beyond me :L)

I have for a while been looking at improving Alsoran and bought some small motor gearboxes from Ebay.

As can be seen in the picture I got two types neither of which were really useable as is but by removing the output gear on one type and puting a longer 1mm shaft on the next one I have a couple of usable units.
Modified they come out at 3.3 gms and as with alsoran they will use the DT43d which are 3-6v but I will be using a single cell LiPo.

I wish we could just metricise everything and move ants to 100mm (A 1.6mm per edge loss)!

But yeah nanoweights are pretty cool and a 2inch (Lets call it 50mm) build size seems fine. So many plans forming now :D

I know you can get these motors http://www.technobotsonline.com/solarbo ... motor.html and wheels to match from various sites, and they'd be ideal... if they didn't cost quite so much
The servos I'm using lack power, but are otherwise much the same as they use a pager motor, have a gear box, and also have a controller board, and are less than a quarter of the price.

HK do a more powerful and faster version of the ones I use (which are also cheaper still) (http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/st ... ouse_.html), but they're currently out of UK stock. Those ones probably have enough power spare to be able to speed hack them, which could be interesting :P

When my parts arrive, I'm gonna try out a 4wd pusher before splitting it into two 2wd flippers just to see if it would be any good...
I also found that HK's 120mAh 2 cell batteries (http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/st ... ouse_.html) would be ideal if split into single cells, as they're the same dimensions as a Lemon Rx, but very thin. I really need to add some weight to mine to get up to 25g, so may have to upgrade :L
