work to do before AWS46:

.cut 2mm lid pannel for Hogi as the 1mm pannel wasn't really rigid enough and it hindered the invertability of the robot quite badly.

. cut 1mm HDPE lid pannel for TS as kwijeboom cut it up quite a bit at antfreeze and although it will probably be being retired from my AWS team now it will still compete at robot wars and at events like antweight open and antfreeze.

instal the spinner's new gear motors and lower the brushless to make hitting opponents easier.

upcoming plans:

another nanoweight pusher and possibly another fleaweight as well.

I've been doing some work on the robots today in preparairation for the next AWS. Hogi now has a 1mm HDPE ramo extention so nothing should be able to get under the front of it this time. I also re mounted cut up's brushless motor and therefore the disc ao that it is lower down and a bit further forward so hopefully that'll eliminate its opponent hitting issues. I may or may not get naughty penguin up and running before Reading. I'm a bit skint at the moment and valantines day is aproachibg ( girlfriends don't come cheap ! ;) )

here is my latest attempt at constructing a walking mechanism. this one is basically an elevated wheel bolted at a single point to the leg with a slider system to convert rotational motion into linear motion. the slider pin for shaft to slide around has been fitted with two pieces of 1mm HDPE just to make sure the shaft slides at a consistent angle.

That's cool. Looking forward to seeing it walk!

technically it will shuffle rather than walk as the front of the robot will be resting on the floor during the recovery phase of the leg movement :)

news update: decided to put the walker on hold for a while as i already have enough ants for a whole team and a reserve for games. i am instead going to focus on building another nano and another fleaweight. the fleaweight will have either a flipper, an axe or a crusher. the nano will probably be a crusher as i don't think there are that many in the nanoweight division and i think a good one could work quite well both on it's own in the NWS and in the clusterbot in the AWS and FWS.

the three part clusterbot idea worked! weight distribution ( roughly)=100g+30g+20g.
individually the botlets are called transit ant, naughty penguin and this too shall fail. at the upcoming AWS my co drivers for the cluster will be my cousins Jhon and Alex. at future events i will have to rope in some of my fellow junior roboteers to drive the two small botlets.
