It'd be rude not to. Unless I can get a cube extension bonus for awesomeness I think i'll have to cut like 40mm off

Just fold the ends instead of cutting them; keeps the weight

Or that, yeah cheers.

Re: I'm giving up
If my maths is correct, the absolute largest dimension you can have in a 4" cube is just shy of 176mm!
This does mean going across diagonally opposite corners,so fitting the rest of the robot in the remaining space may be a challenge...

If you take into account the fact the blade's ~30mm wide then it brings it down the length quite a lot to somewhere around ~130mm

Wrong. You can fit a 141 x 100mm rectangle across two opposite edges of the cube.Rapidrory wrote:If you take into account the fact the blade's ~30mm wide then it brings it down the length quite a lot to somewhere around ~130mm
Alternatively, if the blade has points of the correct angle the full ~176mm can be achieved.
It's all about thinking inside the box

Whoops, that was just my bad maths... Awkward considering I've got a maths exam in a week

Re: I'm giving up
Quick question. Anybody know decent-ish light 25mm od outrunner? There were some little purple things a while back that were that size (screamer motors?) that might have been 25mm.
Cheers.

Re: I'm giving up
Started my fleaweight this evening. Weight will be tight as it is slightly made out of 5mm aluminium. Should be okay if I cut corners and there is plenty of meat to pocket. Will have a wedge. Might see if I can't skim some .5mm ti down to .3 or so.
