Looks very good indeed. I bought a Dantomkia toy recently with plans to RC it (not got round to it yet though!) but this is making me want to give Firestorm a bash too.

As for names, how about dropping the 'storm' part from your suggestion and just calling it Ember? Or if you're a Harry Potter fan in any way, you could call it FiendFyre :P

The Razer team are an odd bunch. I'm pretty sure Ian wouldn't bother with an AWS though.

Dantomkia is a very rare toy. I wouldn't mess about with it. It could be worth a bit of cash in the next few decades.

What a nice way to describe roboteers!

I'm not criticising anyone, but they are known for not coming out for much, unless its a really big deal for them. I met Ian at the featherweight champs one year and he said he wasn't really into ants.

To suggest that everyone who is a roboteer should automatically be described in 'nice' terms though is a bit daft. There's nice people and not nice people in all spheres of existence.

I also have Dantomkia, Razer, Pussycat, Chaos 2, Tornado, and Panic Attack, as well as Dead Metal, 2 Shunts and a Sir Killalot that I got in a big eBay auction. If I was going to convert another it would be Pussycat as we don't really have anything like that in ants and it would be funny flopping about all over the place.

As much as I appreciate your naming ideas, I think I'll stick with my original plan :P.

I've finished building the flipper connection, and it self rights very springily. There was a lot of double-sided tape involved though as I didn't want to drill through the flipper, so I hope it holds together in combat. All that's left to do is add the metal front, add a new logo, and fill in the gaps in the body where the catch for the spring-powered flipper and the fake toy aerials were.

Someone did a Pussycat ant. It came up before, Peter was talking about it.
I was to see EmberStorm fight A Little Bit of Less Fail.
And there's nothing wrong with tape ;-)
