Re: Epic Robotics
you could bring it down to 75g and then make a/some cluster partner/s for it and enter then as a clusterbot.

Re: Epic Robotics
Well I could enter it as a cluster even if it wasn't 75g . But no, I'd rather get it up to weight and enter it on it's own. I did consider trying to make it a flea, but unfortunately the toy's body is just slightly too wide and slightly too long to fit in the 3" cube.

Re: Epic Robotics
Scott don't do clusters. I'm sure he'll get it up to a decent weight. Its really cool. The original Firestorm was only 64kg in an 80kg world and still came 3rd, so its a fitting tribute. How about another servo to jack the front up like the original had at one point?
I hesitate to ask what you're naming it, seen as terrible tradition dictates combining Firestorm and a word meaning small into a clumsy pun...

Re: Epic Robotics
I considered having a lifty front, but decided to keep it as simple as possible. Current working name is "Emberstorm", but I'm open to suggestions if anyone has a better idea?

Re: Epic Robotics
Oh god, don't say that! Nothing fills me with more dread on robot forums than the phrase "I'm open to name suggestions".
Last time Rory said that with his nano spinner, someone suggested Nano Blade. Nano Blade! What is this, Catchphrase? Say what you see? Aaarrrggghhhh!
Ok, I'm fine.

Depending upon how (in)effective it is, perhaps "small flame in a gentle breeze" would be appropriate

Re: Epic Robotics
How about Flip Bot? I think that'd suit it nicely; it's a robot, and it's got a flipper...it's perfect really..

Re: Epic Robotics
I would be the last to offer nameing advice but it does look rather good.
Makes me want to look for some old robotwars toys I have some where to see if any could make a useful robot.
