Cheers Dave

Before you criticize another person, first walk a mile in their shoes. Then, when you critisize them, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes.

How come your uni gets to do Formula Student? I was gutted when I found Reading doesn't compete

Re: Jon's Cheerful Robots
If you get a bunch of enthusiastic people together they might give you a budget to start a team Formula Student at Sheffield goes back quite a few years before I joined so I'm not sure how it all started. The whole endeavor is IMechE run though and Reading is more famous for it's electronic engineering which might be why it hasn't entered in the past. I might be wrong though

Seeing as Reading is closing it's engineering department the year after I leave, I feel money for such endeavours is scarce... Should have gone to Bristol

What, all of engineering?! That's a bit extreme

Yup... AI, Robotics, Cybernetics, and Electronics have all just been cut, and Computer Science and IT shifted to another department. The mechanical engineering courses got cut a few years back, and now upper management are back to finish the job... Gonna be replaced with 'Department of Biomedical Engineering' apparently, which sounds more like biology to me...
