That's fantastic how do you make the ti scoop bends with 1mm so neat? Mine are all a bit, well, imprecise :p

Thanks Dave.
Bends were made using a very big vice, with aluminium jaws,a really big hammer, and a grinding wheel!
And a fair amount of elbow grease!

What do you cut the Ti with ? I have to cut the 1mm stuff with either my angle grinder or a dremel!

Re: Earthwormjim's Stuff
I use a jigsaw!
For Ti,I use a fine metal blade, which goes dull after about 20cm,but is still useable for alot longer, albeit with alot more force behind it.For the bits that I couldnt get bthe jigsaw into,I used a dremmel, but went through 3 cutting disks in about 4cm!
Then I use a bench mounted grinding disk(£20 from Lidl),to fine tune the edges.
I wouldn't like to work with anything thicker than 1mm,it is seriously tough!

Re: Earthwormjim's Stuff
Your metal bending and cutting skills are really quite impressive that looks great.
Those wrap arounds on the edges of the scoop make it very difficult for a spinner to catch any edges.

And with that comment Peter is thinking "dammit Jim I'm a destruction engineer not an 'I'll have to out drive that thing to win' engineer !"
He'll be looking for ways around it now

Re: Earthwormjim's Stuff
Jim that looks excellent! Can't wait to see it in the flesh even though it looks like it will give the Inertia's a bit of trouble

Re: Earthwormjim's Stuff
Ha,thanks chaps.very kind!
The 540rpm motors seem to be struggling to move the full 150g around. It was alot faster and more responsive without the armour.
I may try it with some hp motors and see what difference that makes.
I really should wrap this one up,and get to work on poor old Raoul.
Cheers Jim.
