Re: New Robots- Continued
Here's my latest one i cooked up for our local public event here in Aus to sort out the wheel-ectomies the old version kept recieving. Keep in mind we dont have a size limit!
Its CNCd from nylon 6, uses two speed hacked metal gear servos with 3d printed wheels + rubber washer tyres and retains the belt drive off the original one if anyone remembers The weapon is also a one tooth styled piece made from an old hardened sawblade instead of the old titanium one. Works much better!
The weapon motor was too underpowered though so I'll be replacing the belt drive setup with a custom brushless motor that mounts straight off the 5mm weapon axle and blade

Very nicely done,sir.
Looks pretty effective too!
How big is it?
Is the other half of the blade thicker? How have you counterbalanced it? (looking for ideas!)

Cheers It makes a mockery of the 4" rule thats for sure haha. Tis roughly 160mm wide 50 long and 15 tall, and yep the blade is 15mm shorter on one end. with the waist ground into the longer side to counterweight it, its the same thickness all along its length. I'll snap a pic of it if needed? 8)

Stop giving Jim ideas Glen! Haha. Wonder how our UK ants would fare in Oz? If travel/cost wasn't an issue I'd love to come play! Curse this massive Earth!

While the machine is very impressive, surely an arena with absolutely no drop-off or pits gives an enourmous advantage to spinners?
