Interesting Mechanics

Just thought it might be good to have a place to put thread about things like the walking mechanisms that I tagged into one of the other threads.
While reading up on the internet I found a a really neat gearing simulation. The gears are designed so that gear ratio changes during the revolution from gearing up to gearing down.

Just watched it- he is a genius! He has developed those things so they can actually LIVE!

(BTW i am entering in the 'Cracking' contraption competition!
