Post AWS roundup!

Stanley
Stanley was stanley, though no longer in first so I can retire him! :D He will soon be replaced by an even meaner robot I plan which will essentially be a 4WD robot with the push of Stanley and the flip of Carbon.

Carbon
Following a quick rebuild the day before carbon was much better behaved with its drive and with the powerful flipper did quite well. It wasn't turning itself over as much either allowing it to have flip after flip very aggressively keeping control of it's opponents. I'll probably keep him in the team for next event aswell now.

Test Robot Please Ignore
Have a picture because there isn't one yet!
Image
I started building this guy at midnight with 10 hours to go before tech check closed. :P He made it in and was very suprising, the rapid disassembly of X cowboy (Sorry Dave), one part of Zoni, Lynx (I hope I didn't damage the servo too much) and Mecha Spall (in the final all spinner) proved it had the power. Control was good though it does gyro quite a lot (I kinda like it though). It even managed to best Bad Idea in a quick versus. :D Test Robot Please Ignore will be competing again in very much it's current form just less bodge with some proper scoops up front and better protected wiring. The motor in the disc shows no stress or damage from the fights even though some hits had left heavy dents in the titanium discs teeth. o.O I'll have to order another couple of those!

Sharkbait
Guys we went over this, sharkbait can not keep coming second. It's rubbish!

One robot I intend to add to the team will be a low profile overhead bar spinner, I'm aiming for the bar to be about 15-20mm off of the floor. I'll also be messing with walker and pneumatics. I think I need more space in my team at this rate. :P

Though I'll also be ordering the parts to prototype a few of my own ESCs over the easter break and getting cracking on piecing apocalypse back together.

I built this guy, A nanoweight grabber!

Image
80mah 1S LiPo, 2 hacked servo boards, Lemon RX and a TGY-1440A servo. I'm using some custom gearboxes and it gives it a pretty good drive as you can see in this video:
https://youtu.be/NGIyfSICRp0

The grabber works quite nicely and has a good bit of force in it to grip. It weighs 24.27g leaving me 0.73g for a bit of acetate on the front.

On the ant front, lots of plans mostly spinners :P

Just out of curiosity... no reason at all... ¬.¬

Where would one find very light Barb connectors for 4mmODx2.5mmID pneumatic tubing and very light fill valves (preferably both with a metric tap on one end).

But Dave, Wouldn't you just love me to have pneumatic flippers? :P

I was only planning on seeing if I could fit one to a stanley type chassis!

I usually use these for 2mm id pvc tubing. Not sure how airtight they will be with 2.5mm id tubing though.
