Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
Having finished exams, I can now get back up to speed with building ESCs, so if people need any before the next AWS, now it the time to buy them!
I also just sent off a load of new boards for printing in china with lots of robot controller parts. The main ones that may be of interest to the antweight community are Servo control boards, Nanoweight ESCs, and a limited number of ant ESCs with built in Gyros.
The servo boards just make any standard ESC and motor setup into a servo by attaching the board between the RX and the ESC, and sticking a potentiometer on the motor output. More designed for heavier weight classes as you can often just get away with hacking normal servo boards for ants, but this gives the option of running big 12v setups that normal servo boards would cry about (I'm aiming to use one in Skutter for example)..
The nanoweight ESCs are just miniature versions of the ant ESCs; 10mm x 8mm and substantially thinner. Although the board is rated up to 12v (and 1.5A per channel), it doesn't have a BEC so is only really aimed at 1s lipos.
I threw a couple of ant ESCs with gyros in for print as well; these are the size of a Lemon and are designed to fit neatly alongside. Planning to set it up so they automatically calibrate on start up so they'll work regardless of how they're thrown in the chassis. No idea if they'll actually work as I haven't tried doing the firmware yet, but there's hope yet :L
These are all in fairly limited numbers (40, 20, and 10 of respectively) as they're more for niche applications than wide use... They will be on sale at some point in the next few months when I've got the boards back and firmware written. Prices will be worked out nearer the time.

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
The idea of a board with a gyro makes me giddy with glee. I look forward to seeing how these turn out.
Did you ever get any further with the idea of having a board with a pre-attached Deltang RX (rather than the lemon), or was it too much of a pain?

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
Such a small number of people use deltangs these days (you're pretty much the only person who runs deltangs and/or 3s these days :L) that I hadn't bothered, although I could see if I can get the voltage regulation on the Nanoweight ECS solid enough to run the RX off it. As I say, the boards are rated to 12v so'd be right up your street :L

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
I'm generally trying to move away from 3s unless it is specifically needed (new spring flipper is using a 12v servo, for example, so that needs it). As for Deltangs, they're still around a couple of grams lighter than OrangeRXs, which makes them worth it in my book, even if the soldering is a nightmare. I wouldn't expect you to develop something very few people would use anyway, I was just curious .

See, the lemon RX that nearly everyone uses these days are 0.8g, and at £3 each I never saw enough of a benefit in deltangs to make it worth the price :L

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
Sorry to be a nuisance, but from where is it you buy the Lemons for £3?

Well, £3.50... and then £2 postage... but still not bad... http://www.lemon-rx.com/shop/index.php? ... duct_id=95
And hmm I swear it used to say 0.8g... ok, so 1.4g then..

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers
Any reason you're moving away from 3S, Scott? Is it just size constraints? Having recently upgraded my batteries I'm wondering if I should've stuck with the originals :-/
