New Robot with Weapon!
I've been working on a very compact antweight which has a flipper.
Nearly finished but heres what I got.

started by getting all the parts together. All works fine. (hadd to borrow some parts from Little Doris in the background)

next, I went and made the shell, base and flipper. All made from Titanium. Should provide some defence from attack, mainly spinners.
The base and shell are 0.5mm and the flipper is 0.9mm
I used a paper template to get the shape I wanted and bent them into shape.

fits together with a bit of persuasion

Re: New Robot with Weapon!
continued

the shell is held together at the back with two stainless steel pop rivets. The shell is then attatched to the base by four self tapping screws.

I then mounted all the electronics. The motors sit on a polycarbonate block and held with cable ties. The flipper rod is made of piano wire.
Before i did the last stage i shrank all the wires down to save weight. In the process i soldered one of the motors which had to be replaced as it no longer turned. oops!
It is pretty much finished but a few things need to be done:
1) the pop riviets are rubbing against the wheels and preventing the shell to be in place. need to hammer that down
2) as you can see the flipper has a duct tape hinge. any suggestions for a good one?
3) need to sort out the geometry of the piano wire for the flipper. nearly go it right
4) Name : if you follow the facebook link on my tagline you can enter the naming competition. not many entries so far
5) Paint! will be blue. although have had many suggestions from my friends to electroplate it. not in a million years!
anything anyone can think of to sort out problems, i'd be grateful. don't forget the competition!
youtube video will come as soon as it is completely finished

Re: New Robot with Weapon!
Very nice.Well done.
I like 0.5mm Ti. It has a nice amount of spring in it.
I vote for "Tiny",with an emphasis on the Ti.
