full body spinner saftey

So I am having an idea for a full body spinner ant, or at least an ant with the majority of the body covered by the weapon.

My question is, how does one go about doing that safely from a power up/ power down situation?

Thanks

Bumpy arena

This is an idea bounced around before but a conversation at robonerd got me thinking... Would there be an intrest at AWS 57 in doing a few exhibition fights on a non flat/ obstical laiden arena? Or maybe a obstical course reminiscent of series 1 and 2. If there is intrest then I will try put somthin...

Re: Harry Makes Ants

Thanks guys! I'd been having some problems with stiff retracts. What used to be a snap shut was a slow pained series of events. Everything mechanically seemed free and the silicone bands still had spring. Ended up stripping and re greasing the ram and it seems much better since. https://i.imgur.com...

Help with turn based robot project

Bit of a vague title but hopefully I can explain. When I am not making robots as a hobby I am a wargamer. I have had the idea to mix the hobbies and make a game that the players move their robots by remote control for a set period of time. They then roll dice to determine who shoos who. its Robot wa...

Re: Team 1202 Build Diary

Been having lots of fun printing ABS... Not 100% there but getting close to printing some pretty good looking parts out of ABS. hopefully means I will have some assembled bots soon. The PLA test version of Crabulon weighed in at 160g with 20% print. Still lots of weight to add armor, weapons etc but...

Re: Team 1202 Build Diary

So the pan for AWS 56 is to turn up with 4 new bots: Robototron Mk 5: Tracked lifter Crabulon: Shufflebot. Not sure I will get as far as a active weapon on this one at the moment. OAF 3: Critical Fail: A D&D inspired take on the hamsterball concept R.E.X: Tracked Clampbot. At the moment all 4 ar...

Re: Team 1202 Build Diary

So getting to the point in my life where I feel I need to try a spinner out. Now, not wanting to lose a finger or worse, what would peoples advice on attempting this safely? As a side note and related, what company would cut metal disks, claws etc and what sort of file format do they need. Could I d...

Re: AWS56 - Bristol

Having chatted to people I am taking on an event in feb 2019. Not sure I could finance and run both aws 56 and 57.
