I might be wrong but that charger you bought looks suspiciously like a power adapter , i would be careful charging your batteries as , if it is just a power adapter it will have no feature so stop charging the battery once it is full.

so far , techno bots are the cheapest uk place i can think of at the moment , as for the speed controller , i would use servo boards or ask peterwaller if you can buy one of his new controllers.

having exactly the same radio , and a flipper bot , i would also find this info very usefull , i had opened it up before and put a DPDT switch on the outer 2 pins of the pot , this is quicker than doing it manually but i know that it still has to go though every position so its still quite slow .
