Outstanding! The antweight world definitely needs more flails. Who knows - if the Gods of Antlog are smiling we might even
get some flail on flail action on Saturday...

Re: Team Antiquarian & Anthony's Ant Army ready for battle
As for my own ants, "Try Again, Flail Again, Flail Better..." (it's from Samuel Beckett's "Worstwards Ho!", in case anyone was wondering) has had one massive upgrade in that the insulating tape that I was using to close the battery compartment has been replaced with Gaffer tape. ...

Re: Team Antiquarian & Anthony's Ant Army ready for battle
Completely unchanged from Basingstoke (I've literally done nothing except recharge the battery and change the acetate) is Other Way Up - Anthony's 'bog-standard invertible pusher'. This one will have to take its chance in the lottery: https://i.imgur.com/ZsCFOsi.jpg But the new kids on the block - a...

Team Antiquarian & Anthony's Ant Army ready for battle
Well, it's been a while since I posted - busy trying to get my head around 3-printing and Fusion 360 but I like to think the effort's been worth it. Finally got our two teams (mine and my son's) ready for AWS60. Found an AirBnB within 10 mins walk of the venue so we'll make a weekend of it. Anthony'...

Re: Ellis's (Team BANANAPHONE/A12) build log!
Like Mark says, you can save a few grams and also make a much neater package by removing the header of the Rx and soldering wires in directly, rather than using the Futaba-style connectors - though I'm not sure I'd want to be doing that so close the big day. I've standardised on the Redcon 4-ch CM42...

Re: AWS 60 - Headington, Oxford - 30th Nov 2019
So which arena is being used for the main event?
If I know the last AWS it appeared at then I can check it out on Youtube (and thus pre-visualise the shortest route between my start position and the pit... )

Re: Good speed for antweights?
Personally I find a faster motor just means I can drive into the pit quicker... Bear in mind are that not all N20s are created equal. I bought some cheap 1:30 6v motors from random sellers on AliExpress and tested them using an optical tachometer. They should all have been 500rpm but actual speeds v...

Re: AWS 60 - Headington, Oxford - 30th Nov 2019
Dropped us down to
- 2 rollers for Team Antiquarian (spares me the bother of repairing some minor damage from Basingstoke)
- 2 rollers plus 1 cluster for Anthony's Ant Army.

Re: Lipo 180mah 2S Compatible LOSB0863
Looks like Alex is right - protection against overloading with much heavier duty batteries. But I think I can get round it by making a Y-shaped adapter cable with the JST-PH balance connectors wired through as normal, plus a couple of wires spliced onto the outermost leads and connected to a JST-XH ...
