Re: Advice on using a pistol grip transmitter
Thanks. I'm starting to make sense of it all. Just ordered a DasMikro with channel mixing, so I guess I have to follow instructions... or come here to ask for further advice.

Advice on using a pistol grip transmitter
I'm building a simple pusher robot with a Zumo chassis with a static scoop and no active weapons, and I was thinking of using a fairly cheap pistol grip transmitter with receiver (looking at a GoolRC TG3 with 3 channels) to drive it, and I'm looking to use the DasMikro speed controller for the motor...

Re: The adventures of an antweight robot building nerb
It's been 4 months since I posted anything here, but Flipper the Priest was finally completed last month. https://itsaneverydaystory.files.wordpress.com/2018/08/20180804_221547.jpg?w=680 After sorting out the soldering (because I didn't have the time to do it since the last post) it's now properly w...

Re: T_Y's Build Log
Hello World! looks absolutely gorgeous. I always wanted to build a front-hinge flipper (or a Lightning-esque side flipper) once I finished my other antweight (still have to do better soldering on it), and this is what I wanted it to look similar to! The use of a motor to power the weapon is unusual ...

Re: First time builder question - is a three week build possible?
I was thinking of using HDPE to screw pieces of armour together, but then I used small pieces 1mm polycarbonate. It is much easier to bend than 1.5mm, and hell of a lot easier to cut than HDPE. As for the flipper hinging, that varies between many a builder here. I made a hinge by cutting a strip of ...

Re: The adventures of an antweight robot building nerb
Cheers Paul. I am around 10-15 grams underweight, but I won't bother putting wheel protection for now as it has been too much of a faff to put this thing together! Too much time to make little adjustments right now and I'll have to learn to keep my front end facing my opponents. Besides, I'm not ent...

Re: The adventures of an antweight robot building nerb
Well, it took a while, but I finally had time over the past week to finish up my robot. I didn't bother with epoxy in the end and used glue and double-sided tape to hold panels into place while I bolted them on. It's wonky, over-designed for a first robot, the soldering is bad and the internals are ...

Re: The adventures of an antweight robot building nerb
While I'm sticking with 2mm nuts and bolts to hold things together, as well as the epoxy bonding (along with super glue to temporarily hold things in place), is it possible to weld/melt polycarbonate together using a soldering iron? I just bought cone tips for mine for precise jobs.

Re: The adventures of an antweight robot building nerb
After plenty of trail and error, I have managed to cut the pieces of my polycarbonate armour and plan to put them together using Araldite epoxy and joining with screws and 1mm polycarbonate pieces. I just wanted to ask out there how do you paint polycarbonate? Acrylic? Spray paint? Specialist paint?...

Re: Yet another new guy!
Nice work. I've noticed the red wire of your servo is linked between the battery and receiver. How did you link it up and how's it working for you? My own antweight is going slowly but I'm getting used to cutting polycarbonate straight now with the right tools.
