Re: AWS 35 - Pontefract - 17th July 2011

Sorry, I can't make this event. Have to work on the Sat and in the middle of doing my kitchen at the moment and don't have any spare time.

Re: Ever started something you wish you hadn't??

I've done 2 mods on my DX6 (not the DX6i):

1) move the aerial inside the Tx

2) replace the 3.3V voltage regulator with a more efficient one, get a lot more battery life now.

Re: Worm Gears

That won't work. With worm gears you need to drive the worm gear which in turn drives the spur gear. You can't drive a worm gear from a spur wheel.

Look at bezel gears as these may do what you want.

Re: AWS 35 - Pontefract - 17th July 2011

Hi Joey, I'm still working on this. Unsure what i'm doing at the moment as I have something planned the week before and after, prefered it when I had nothing on.

Have looked at hotels/trains but can't book anything yet. Will let you know when I work it out.

Gary, good work. Is it possible to do something similar for AWS 32 and 34 to see what they look like, depending on the results maybe easier to merge them into 1 database. Could it be a lot simpler by counting wins and losses and a ratio rather than allocating points? This would also work across mult...

Go for it. I tried it once but got confusing when you have 2nd generation ants such as Anto 2 and DBA EVO. Are they considered new ants or continuations? Like the idea of the last 3 WS, is probably worth only including ants that have attended at least 2 of them to throw out the 1 hit wonders.

Banebots wheels

Does anyone have any experience of usnig the Banebots wheels?

I was looking at the 5" orange version but unsure about the hardness/softness of the wheel and how much grip I'll get.

Is for my styrene R5 rather than a feather.

Pete, have look online. Servo splines differe between manufacturers, i.e. Futaba, Hitec, etc.

You can buy aftermarket metal arms if you know which spline set they use.

Which servo do you use? I was looking at some servos for another job and need some high torque ones.
