I will be there too with Ant Awe 5 and seeing as my last exam is tomorrow I might just have enough time to build Ant Awe 6 but we will see.

As Dave said compressors are allowed and you can fit a buffer tank as long as it can clearly take the pressure being supplied by the compressor. A long coil of pipe can give similar results for a lower cost but a tank is still preferable. Heres a couple of tips which I have found useful when trying ...

you could use a compressor with the rams you have. Technobots have a couple of push fit valves which you could control with a servo which would operate the rams. However, a system like this is not going to make a briiliant flipper, it will probably have a very low flow rate and will be more of a lif...

I dont know about others but I do plan to come along to an AWS as soon as I have a decent antweight which is fully within the rules (Ant Awe cant compete due to the metal armour rule)- soon enough though I should have another ant or two running so then hopefully I will be able to enter but for now I...

Dave is right, the main focus of both Roaming Robots and Robots Live are the heavyweights and the feathers although recently ants have become more involved with the shows then they have been recently. At a couple of the recent RR events the ants have been shown on the big screens and its the same wi...

HDPE is definately the better option over polycarb, we used polycarb on the old whirlpool and ended up replacing the side panels after each event, we then replaced it with some 20mm HDPE and it has been more than strong enough ever since. We also used 5mm HDPE covers on Aftershock which have been we...

How could I forget Anty B and Razzler!

Ant was not originally designed to be like turbulence although as I was building it, it did end up looking very similar.

I will be building another clone very soon- a mini maelstrom with a scaled down flipper system.

Antweight Clones

I was just wondering, how many heavyweight clones have there been over the years.

Currently I think there are only 2 running, Ant Awe and Baby Tilly.

Have I forgotten any?

:) I remember that fight, the arena flipper got my link right at the end. it was a good fight though i'll have to try harder this time round  Whirlpool EVO looks almost identical to the old one just with a new chassis (the old one had suffered as a result of over 2 years of service and almost ...
