Re: Team Astro Build Log (Cheese bots)

There has been a recent emergence of powered overhead weapons, I think we'll start to see more people developing armour packages for them - I made 0.5mm Ti top plates after seeing Shakey's "Calm Down, It's Only a Drill!" eviscerate a LiPo at Ant Freeze last year. I've found Titanium workab...

Re: After lurking on here for almost a decade, I've finally built something

Ooh, 4-bar lifter! Always like seeing more of those being made. Seconding haz's suggestion of polycarbonate panels bolted on to the chassis. This is what I do - I use PLA+ brackets and mostly polycarbonate (I like to use 1.5mm if I can spare the weight, but you could probably go thinner), and they h...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

I went to BotFest and Robodojo a couple of weekends ago, so it's time for an event log! This one will cover some general remarks followed by a Robodojo report, as I'm waiting for BotFest footage to be uploaded first before I write up that event. Robodojo footage here: https://youtu.be/YvnPG7cjgX4 So...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

Version 2 of PLAPIAPLCOM is complete! Test video here: https://youtu.be/9299wu4GJw8 https://i.imgur.com/BInG9bS.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qUOO9Ss.jpg One of the things I didn't manage to do with the previous version was add side armour panels to protect the wheels against horizontal spinners. With thi...

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Thanks for the update. It's looking less likely I'll be able to make it, but I'll definitely try to come to the next one!

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

What time is the event planning on starting? I may not be able to make it, but I've signed up for it anyway. It's been too long since I've gone to an event!

Re: T_Y's Build Log

Thanks all! Hopefully I'll be able to meet you guys at events soon! Progress is going on the manufacture of spare parts. I have a full set of spares for the three I intend to bring to the next event (PLAPIALPCOM, PM4, RE). I probably want extra sets of wheels for PLAPIAPLCOM because they're exposed....

Re: T_Y's Build Log

It's been a while since I've updated this blog, so let me talk about what I've been up to in the past year. Precussive Maintenance 3 will never see combat. That's because it has been replaced with Percussive Maintenance 4: A New Spanner! https://i.imgur.com/W2QR07l.jpg I've returned to the gear-driv...
