So if I'm reading this right, for example whoever owns wedge wedge wedge must own all the cluster bots and all the transmitters for them, correct? Those are all considered "team" property, so you can't just make one 75g and a friend have a 75g bot and call that a cluster bot on tournament...

Afraid you're not quite right there Eddie, PWM (not PPM) is the one you want.
PPM is similar to sbus in that it is a single wire for the signals.
PWM is the one that you're thinking of where each channel has its own signal wire.

In particular, how well the robot is designed and built, and how well driven it is, are both much more important than the type of machine.
