Re: New Roboteer!

I've been having a browse for some lipos and was wondering if anyone has any experience of wiring two 1s lipos up into 2s configuration. I came across the following lipos on ebay that sem to have good performance: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3x-Three-30C-160mAh-1S-3-7V-TURNIGY-LIPO-ULTRA-MICRO-PARKZON...

Re: New Roboteer!

I've been fiddling around with my ants again tonight and noticed one of the sg90 9g servos used for drive was constantly spinning approximately half speed in one direction. I tried trimming it out, but failed, and also checked that the pot hadn't become dislodged from its neutral position, which it ...

Re: New Roboteer!

I think I'm going to go with the combination I listed above of Zippy lipo and turnigy charger. Does anyone have any experience buying from hobbykings USA warehouse, since the batteries I'm looking at are out of stock elsewhere? I read on the hobbyking site that the USA wahrehouse is only for USA cus...

Re: New Roboteer!

Thanks Gary, that clears a lot of my questions up! I haven't come across Robotbirds before either so I appreciate you posting that.

If anyone else has experience of using specific brands of chargers & batteries I'd be interested in hearing your opinions.

Cheers

Re: New Roboteer!

hey Joey, nice to meet you too! - I'll reserve judgement on my robots build quality until I fight a spinner I think :) I haven't actually got that charger but am considering that or an imx b6, though I hear there are imitiations of the imax floating around so I may avoid it. I was intrigued by the l...

Re: New Roboteer!

Following on from an enjoyable and slightly more successful AWS36 than I was expecting (I didn't lose every fight!) I'm now looking to start working on a third ant. This time I'm looking to upgrade to lipos instead of NiMhs for power. I've got a few questions about a few things I'm unsure about that...

Re: Servo reversing on MLP4DSM transmitter

yes that's it Dave. It's strange because the throttle up/down on the MLP4DSM is the opposite to my DX4e. I guess in order to reverse the servo itself would require swapping the two motor wires and also the two outer pot wires?

Re: Servo reversing on MLP4DSM transmitter

ahh ok, I meant that I mounted the servo on the right side of my ant with the servo output shaft pointing inwards, however, had I mounted the servo on the left side of my ant with the servo shaft pointing inwards the throttle up/down would have reflected the position of the flipper, rather than its ...
