I agree if both go out the one that initiated should win. I found it hard giving the decision against DBA at the last WS event just because the other robot bounced off the arena wall and took slightly longer to go out. I have suffered the same problem myself many times before I beleive the rules as ...

I have had this problem with some spinners that are badly balanced. The vibration is often worse at low speed I think due to hitting some kind of resonance. If you get the spinner well balanced it should be OK at all speeds.

If you want to drill holes for grub screws the tricky bit is getting them to go though the centre of the bar. Remember most motor shafts are only 2mm dia where as the grub screws are usually M3 or 3mm. To drill from the edge of a round spinner and exactly hit the shaft hole up the centre you need a ...

Actually got the prototype moving last night at about 1/5 speed. I fitted two SY-CR102 IR send recieve units from Maplin at the front corners set to reverse the opposite drive motor while it is detecting the edge as a first try. The result gave edge avoidance but having once turned it follows the ed...

It is the 300DF I use and your picture is quite different maybe the manufacturers have redesigned it.
I have just been on to SMC's web site and its a 300DF mkII they sell now which explaines the difference.

I could probably draw up the 300DF in DesignCad and then convert it to JPEG if that is any use. I have found this the best way to mount discs on these motors as the shafts can get bent if the disc is mounted on them. You can always cut off the shaft using a dremel in fact I am not sure if I have one...

As stated the thing with bending titanium is to ensure a bend radius of at least 3mm. I usually bend it round a piece of aluminium which I have filed the corner to the correct radius. On another note is it me getting old and intolerent or are the signatures getting bigger and more self indulgent. Pe...
