Re: Team Antiquarian new build diary
Re the silicone tubing tyres .. Very nice. It would be interesting to try making them say 4 or 5 mm wide. Many people think that more surface area is better, but basic physics states that total friction between two smooth surfaces with a given downforce does not vary with area. They see the benefit ...

Re: Tiny 6mm gear motors appearing in Aliexpress
We have had one Ant run here with them, with 14mm wheels. A 4WD vertical spinner. It drove very well. He was running on 2S with the faster ratio planetary. The problem was wheels breaking off from impacts, though maybe the motors/brushes would have failed if the wheels had lasted longer. I have boug...

Hi Stuart
I will be very interested to see how these new Feetech servo ESCs work out?
Mike.

Re: Pre modded servo boards for escs?
I am back home now, and have had a chance to test some of the Doman 360 servos and ESCs .. First I tested the 10 most recent ones (Ordered 17 Mar, Rcd 28 Mar) I ran each one from Ch 1 of an FS-iA6 Rx with 4.92 volts in, and an FS-i6 Tx. They all seem to do "what it says on the packet". Nex...

Re: Pre modded servo boards for escs?
Hi MySolderIsOlder Not questioning your obviously thorough testing, but this is quite different to the results I have been getting. I received another batch of 10 units recently for "stock", but haven't needed to dip into them yet. You have me wondering now if the Chinese have been "t...

Re: Pre modded servo boards for escs?
This is our preferred Rx .. https://www.banggood.com/Flysky-FS2A-4CH-AFHDS-2A-Mini-Compatible-Receiver-PWM-Output-for-Flysky-i6-i6X-i6S-p-1214269.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN We tend to use the FlySky i6 Tx. Or if you have a 6 volt Rx and a weapon motor, maybe the weapon ESC has a BEC fun...

Re: Pre modded servo boards for escs?
No mods needed at all.
There is no potentiometer.
These are really a purpose made small 2 way ESC.
Note that if you run 2S - 8.4 volts and an Rx that can only handle 6 volts, you will need to regulate a power source for the Rx.
I tend to use Rx that is rated to 10 volts, so no problem.

Hi Daniel I have been using the ESC from these .. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/DOMAN-RC-10pcs-lot-DM-S0090D-R-9g-0-08s-1-8kg-cm-360degree-continuous-rotation/32657260546.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.40fb2e0eyqMeae They are different to standard servo electronics, in that they have a proper centre o...

3) These are probably a "JST DS LOSI 2.0MM 2 Pin Connector". The plugs have flat pins, exposed on one side.

Just watched GFTGA in action.
Impressive the way it rolls around.
How many servos does it have?
Any close up photos of the construction detail?
If it's not too proprietary
