Re: GeorgeR's robots
If you want more torque (I guess you mean on initial spin-up) you would almost certainly be better off looking at your esc and its settings, or possibly the battery - any decent sized brushless should have more than enough.

Re: GeorgeR's robots
What brush less motor do you use on vampire? I use the LeTodar 2204 on both Vampire and RBMK. It's stupidly robust (5mm shaft!) and has a good selection of threaded holes to mount blades. It is a bit on the big/heavy side though - 28mm diameter, 20mm tall, 28g. I like them because they're cheap (£7...

Re: Fishy Electronics - DisinfectANT , Cilit BANG
That looks fantastically mad, I love it. Are you coming along to the AWS in a couple of weeks? It'd be good to see them in action.

Re: AWS rule polls 2019
I'm pretty sure that the issues regarding walkers etc will be addressed in future rule votes. These are just the first lot of changes, with more to come later.

Re: Lukes ramblings
You got it right with disconnecting the positive wire from one of the escs, if you leave them both connected the two power supplies "fight" each other and you'll burn one of them out. The second esc will still receive the signal from receiver and run fine.

Re: AWS rule polls 2019
I'm really glad the rules are getting an update, it certainly feels rather overdue. Thanks to all the committee for your hard work in making it happen. All of the changes proposed look good to me, and I hope they are adopted for the future. With regards to Kyro's suggestion on allowances, I think th...

Re: GeorgeR's robots
And now for something completely different, here's RBMK .... https://i.imgur.com/KQFp6qJ.jpg This is a bit of an unusual one, a torque reaction gyro walker utilizing an entirely new and unique walking mechanism! Specs 99x122x38mm, 200g 2x 90mm horizontal spinners (LeTodar 2204/DYS XM10A) combined wi...

Re: GeorgeR's robots
If in doubt, add more spinners!
Cheers. It's actually only three fully independent weapons, the two little verts are both running off of the same channel, but the big ones and the pair are all individually controlled. I'll do a post explaining how the walking motion works when I get a spare minute.

Re: GeorgeR's robots
Made some more progress on the new one... https://i.imgur.com/FP2xiBtm.jpg https://i.imgur.com/lkiVq25m.jpg I quickly bodged the cardboard top on so I could do a bit of testing, and I'm very relieved to report it actually works! It's almost impossible to control right now, and my lack of a decent si...
