Re: AWS55 - 30th June 2018 - Dunchurch Village Hall

My robots are in a box ready to be posted to England. They will travel further than me for this event :P

Re: Walker rule clarification? Unusual design.

I also agree with that approach. We do try our damndest not "ban" anything that has turned up to an event without good reason (obviously largely overweight, dangerous or explicitly illegal robots have to be altered or withdrawn but you get my gist).

It definitely doesn't look as bad as you seem to think it does! Looking forward to seeing it go.

Re: Walker rule clarification? Unusual design.

Yeah, sorry Lincoln, it was poorly written now I read it back. I meant oval wheels, tracks and the like should not qualify for a 4th. The numbers thing is strange. For example, theoretically, if I was told I couldn't enter my walker in the upcoming AWS due to numbers, but then handed it to a team wi...

Re: Walker rule clarification? Unusual design.

I guess the issue with that proposal is it may increase the number of robots that are signed up for an event, something we may have to think about limiting further in the future if more people want to take part in an AWS. Ha, there's always another issue

Re: T_Y's Build Log

Paint can add a surprising amount of weight too, as I've learnt to my cost in the past!

It looks fantastic though, well done. Can't wait to see it do battle.

Re: DasMikro and Flipping Servo

Yes sir, I just mean because other speed controllers with a built in reciever have a place to plug in a servo but the DasMikro does not so you have to wire it in in the way you suggested :D

Re: DasMikro and Flipping Servo

Hi.
Yes, that's pretty much it if you're running off a DasMikro for drive. Signal wire to the reciever (usually in the throttle slot, though some use rudder) then the power wires into the battery circuit.

Re: Walker rule clarification? Unusual design.

@Antroboteer As usual, I love your passion my friend, but you have to get away from this idea that your opinions are the definitive ones. I disagree with a lot of your interpretations of things, and vice-versa, which is absolutely fine but using terms like "it is plainly clear" and "t...
