Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

At the AW level, I agree it is normally 1v1 but as a general thing, fighting robotics is a team sport. The terminology used throughout (certainly for BotFest and AntLog) is that robots are assigned to teams and that team may consist of one or more persons.

I'll be posting later on tonight.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

I am waiting to see the official update from the Government on this and the actual law bill being passed before making a call on this. As a "organised team sport", it is a grey area at the moment.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Please find attached the group draws, please tell me if you have two or more robots in the same group but I don't think that is the case here. http://teamkaizen.ocracoke.org.uk/botfest/Screenshot_2020-08-27_11-54-10.png As previous events, it will be a "everyone fights everyone 1v1" in tha...

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

The two extra slots have been filled. I'll sort out the draw later on, there will be 8 groups rather than 4 this time as there are 35 robots in this one.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

You are welcome to bring the workbench for yourself but you'd need to be able to maintain distance between each other when setup. The church, handily, has spots on the floor where they place chairs for the service on a Sunday. This effects a grid pattern.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

So I've had a look at the church hall and the layout of the place and I think I am comfortable with adding two more spaces to the event but then that will be it. The signup form has been re-opened. Because of the very limited plugs available, I recommend that people share extension leads where possi...

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

It looks to be about 30 at the moment, which would be a record for this event I think.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

All 14 slots have now been filled and the Google form has been closed. With that said, I am going back to the Church this Sunday to see if it is possible to rise this by 6 to make 20 slots for anyone who missed out on registration the first time around.

Re: BotFest 4 (25th April 2020)

Apologies, I noticed last night that the registration to the originally planned event was still open on AntLog, which I have now force closed. If you have signed up for BotFest 4 via AntLog, you will need to register again through the Google form.
