Re: Team Shakey Build Diary
A question about the geared drives ... I'm guessing that the fairly big toothed gears are custom 3D printed? What are the pros and cons of using these vs the injection moulded production gears from China, with smaller (0.5 modulus) teeth? Mike. Yes they are custom 3D printed. I don't use injection ...

Re: Team Shakey Build Diary
What happened to filthy casuals? I was rewatching AWS 49 and really like this bot. Looks nifty! Will you ever bring him back? Filthy Casuals as a personal bot is retired but it still somewhat lives on. That geared drive iteration worked well enough it formed the basis for quite a few robots since: ...

Re: Shipping from China held up?
Yes as Chinese new year was extended and a lot of work places are shut due to the virus. Shipping is both delayed and has a huge backlog. Patience is key when ordering from there.

Re: Team Shakey Build Diary
1. Is the power supply for the 4, DC4S chargers something special or will it just show up on searches for them? I'm leaning towards duplicating that set up since I'm building for myself and my 4 children. I think we will all have a lot of bots by the end of the year if all goes well. Also what woul...

Re: Team Shakey Build Diary
1. Can you please tell me what the Grey and Blue devices are in the background? 2. What rpm do you usually use for your motors (driving wheel motors)? 3. If you play D&D, based on your experience at Antfreeze 7, do the hit dice and attack for the drillbot seem relatively accurate? (don't worry ...

Re: Team Shakey Build Diary
When designing test robot please ignore, did you put the blade in the centre of the robot, so that the two sections where the electronics and battery lay, felt the same centrifugal forces, or does it not matter? I'm afraid I don't understand your question, Do you mean the gyro forces somehow? I put...

Re: Antweight Rules Proposal
As far as I can remember it has always been the case and remains the case that the grabber has won in this scenario as they are the aggressor. Note that a lot of the problems we get with the ruleset are when people go into these wording minutia to try and pull one over or claim a victory against the...

Re: ESC questions & why not USA shipping
Is it common for the esc to get "hot enough to burn"? This was just something in the endbots site and I was curious if this was just common to esc's.. Thank you! All electronics produces heat as a by-product, power electronics especially so. It isn't uncommon at all for ESCs to heat up an...
