Re: AWS55 - 30th June 2018 - Dunchurch Village Hall

None of these points are alien to an AWS though. We always operate within those timelimits (10 til 6). It's only been a problem once and that was for reasons of obvious delays (the pits were in a different room to the arena with no way to communicate between the two, ha.) Chill out a bit dude. All y...

Re: AWS55 - 30th June 2018 - Dunchurch Village Hall

Chris, why are you limiting it to 75 robots? We used to run AWSs with well over 100 bots on double elimination fine in a day. I don't see why there would be "schedule conflicts" when there's only one competition to cater for. Surely the point of an AWS is not to limit it? The reason I have...

Re: Disinfect-ant - Antweight First Build Log

There hasn't been an ant called Disinfect-ant in the many years I've been around, though there was one called deoderAnt, which would've made for an interesting sounding battle...

Woof Justice, per chance? Ha.

AWS56 is already scheduled for October 13th to give you the exact time to work to.

Good luck with it.

Re: Just getting started..

I'll answer the grabby part as I've built a few in the past. I find that the design of the grabber is much more important for getting a grip than the servo powering it. You don't need a lot of "force" to hold an ant but you do need something to clamp it to IE. a floor, a flap, a wedge or a...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

Also, I believe those ESCs are single direction only, hence the cheap price. They are designed to power a boat prop or car wheel in one direction whilst a servo rudder/rack does the steering.
