Re: Yet another new guy!

Do you think thats the problem? The 0 on my stick is 50% for the servo?! Exactly. Also, BeligerAnt is right about turning on the transmitter on before the robot is switched on/plugged in, hence the sudden servo movement. By the way, when I mentioned the left stick being all the way to 0, I meant -1...

Re: Yet another new guy!

So it moves up when you switch it on? First off, check if the channel it's connected to is set to zero. For instance, mine is connected to the throttle as I'm using the NanoTwo, and the left stick is all the way down. If it is, you have to unscrew the plastic horn from the servo and then position it...

Re: "Flip-it” new build/project

DRAX looks great! I like how you connected up the servo to the weapon, and how you've bolted the armour on. I might take design cues from you to adapt to my own antweight, with some construction differences, of course.

Re: The next episode of probably a dumb question, but..

In all honesty, I feel using the left (throttle) stick for a flipper is absolutely fine. I'm using a Turnigy S306G-HV and despite the flimsiness of my cardboard construction right now, it still has some great lifting capability on it. And yes, you can connect two servos in tandem. The only example I...

Re: NanoTwo Kits

Cheers George. It's all good now. All I got to do now is figure out the best way to mount a weapon servo!

Re: NanoTwo Kits

Hi Rory and/or Alex. I've just soldered on two motors to the NanoTwo ESC and successfully bound my Devo 7e to it. However, on the right stick, left goes forward, right goes back, up turns left, down turns right. Now obviously I want up=forward, right=right, etc, and it could be a case of re-solderin...

Re: ALDI vice & calipers this week

Cheers John. I was looking for a cheap vice to help with cutting the armour of my first antweight, and this will do the job. Also helps that I'm less than a mile from my nearest ALDI.

Re: The adventures of an antweight robot building nerb

Thanks Paul. I just checked your build. One question that I was going to ask was how one would go about hinging the flipping arm onto the main body, and you used some kind of wire or rod to do so. What's it made of and where did you get it?

The adventures of an antweight robot building nerb

As Mr. Garrison from South Park once said - there are no stupid questions, just stupid people. As a long time Robot Wars fan and someone who was in a John Findlay cardboard antweight workshop, I had a bit of free time over the Christmas period to do a mock-up cardboard antweight flipper robot (withi...
