Re: Build Diary for a new antweight

Well, I do have my first robot, which is a lifter but is poorly built, so once Roc is up and running I plan to gut the internals of my first robot and rebuild it, and I'm thinking of theming it around an Oni, a Japanese demon that had the power to cause disasters, disease and famines and looks like ...

Re: Build Diary for a new antweight

May I ask how you did the paint and what type of paint it is? I actually used some Letraset Promarkers, they look great and are pretty versatile, and you can get metallic colours to make everything look shiny haha. I drew it out in pencil first, went over in pen, and then filled in with certain col...

Re: Build Diary for a new antweight

I've completed all of Roc that I can until I buy a transmitter and receiver and see what works and what doesn't. I coloured the wings to make them look more aesthetically pleasing, the wings themselves don't really have any use and are just there to make the robot look better, maybe guard the wheels...

Re: Robot Wars TV Series 2016 BBC 2

Just watched, was so excited, excellent show and congrats to everyone on the Nuts team, so likeable and great fun. It was unfortunate Terrorhurtz went out but great job getting Nuts back together, and Carbide were very good. Behemoth also did very well, better than it ever seemed to do in the origin...

Re: Build Diary for a new antweight

More progress has been made on Roc. The claw was made out of many pieces of polycarb Althouhh some of the smaller ones went missing so I was left with something a little less strong in the long run. image.jpeg The beak was bolted together and attached to a servo horn although the bolt to attach it i...

Re: Build Diary for a new antweight

It's very nice :) wish I could build something like it. I bet you can you've just got to stick with it. I spent around £220 over the past couple years trying to get something to work and now I've finally got the motivation to do so. I did some more work tonight I'll update tomorrow. Good luck with ...

A vice that screws onto the table is pretty cheap, like £6, I'm buying one. It is possible to bend without one but it's difficult.

Re: Build Diary for a new antweight

A lot of progress has been made since the chassis was cut and bent. More holes were drilled in the sides of the chassis, as well as the bottom to allow the motors to poke through and to be held in place by a pair of zip ties. image.jpeg I've also settled on a name and aesthetic design. As my forum n...
