Re: Help for a big event
True, there are some issues. the armour may need a reprint along the line to make it thicker etc. There was no way that servo was sitting in the robot with the design we have, its a trend i've seen quite a bit recently. Josh did a cracking job, when you see them up close at some point you should be ...

Re: Help for a big event
Hey guys, Thanks for the feedback. @Gary: That looks really cool! The show has changed somewhat - the idea originally was for me to build a robot on stage however it soon became apparent that due to time constraints i would be building a robot backstage and then reviling it onstage later in the show...

Re: Antweight bits for beginners
1: Very possible. There are kits available here for £100 or so which make for a decent starting point OR you could buy bits individually yourself for about the same price. TBH battles are so fast pretty much anything can be somewhat competitive. I came second in my first event with a robot that was,...

Re: Help for a big event
Small updates and things. The event has been pushed back a few weeks for a variety or reasons, but is very much still going ahead. For the last couple of months i have been working hard with Josh to make some really cool stuff, i have attached a render of the spinner robot so you can get a rough ide...

Viva la VidCon
Hey guys, posted this on the FRA but thought i should put it here to. So this website called King Of The Web has started this online "election" thing, if you win you get to go to VidCon 2012 which is this big YouTube gathering in America. I decided to throw my hat into the ring because it ...

Re: Help for a big event
Thanks for the reply's guys, interesting to hear your opinions as ever. From the beginning the idea was to avoid servo drive. The list of components will be very similar to what Andy listed except without the Sabertooth (Perhaps the Fingertech controllers or a Peter board) and the occasional odds an...

Re: Help for a big event
Hi, Thanks for the interest guys. Dave, that would be awesome. Drop me a line a bit closer to the event and we can figure out transport etc. Gary, you make a very good point. I am trying to find a mid ground between "Uber tech" and well... this . To me 3D printing seems like a reliable sol...
