Re: T_Y's Build Log

I think given the curved shape of the rollers, casting silicone tyres onto them might be a bit tricky, I'd have to think about it and see what could be done. I was thinking of some sort of tape or paint-able latex which may do the trick. Any attempt to add tyres to the rollers is going to need a mo...

Really awesome! 1 more channel for brushed motors is a real godsend for flippers and axes.

Re: Little help requested with a new bot - receiver, material sourcing etc. thanks.

Ahh yea that one! PWM. I'm mixing acronyms. Thanks for the clarity George! :) Joe, in case you already bought it - dont fret, the RX i linked is still good for you - it is actually PWM (only I dont know my PWMs from my PPMs :P ) (NB: Because I'm a bit crazy, I actually built my own ESCs which do use...

Re: Little help requested with a new bot - receiver, material sourcing etc. thanks.

What are PPM and SBUS? Connector types? Also, it's all weight-sensitive! SBUS and PPM are different ways the RX outputs signal for use by other components. Main difference is with SBUS you will get 3 wires that output 4 channels all together. Usually used for plugging into a flight control board on...

Re: Little help requested with a new bot - receiver, material sourcing etc. thanks.

3. Receiver. Ok this depends a lot on your transmitter. You say you have the Taranis X9D - which is the exact one i am using also (exclusive club! high five!) A lot of people in antweights use DSM2 receivers (no technical reason, just what has become the norm) so you will need to install a OrangeRX ...

Re: Eddie J - DisinfectANT , Cilit BANG, Flash POWERspray

So you overmoulded the tyre on the wheel? Nice. Looks good with the "wrap around gearbox" style too. Nice helical tread pattern. :D The dream is that spinners will just bounce off the rubbery tyres :? .. i can dream.. Still need to lose 5g of weight on the bot. I had to reduce the d...
