Re: AWS 40

I hope to come, however I'm still waiting for some of the parts to arrive that may not be here until the day before the event, so I might (in my case this means probably) still be building the robot at the event, so should I sign up and would it be a problem if I attend without a functioning robot t...

Re: Low-Cost Wheels for Gearmotors

Thanks, despite the £7 postage and £1 setup, it still seems a better idea than what I'm currently doing.

Re: Low-Cost Wheels for Gearmotors

A link would be helpful as currently I'm having to modify the lego wheels on my ant to insert the core of a set of pololu wheels which have to be cut out and filed down.
Postage costs and time shouldn't be an issue.

Re: Thread for silly questions about rules!

Thought this would be the best place for the question, "2c) Robots must have an externally accessible way of being shut down (e.g. a power switch, removable link or battery plug)." Would having the switch placed under a flipper/lifting arm be acceptable as the flipper/lifting arm can be li...

Shapeways weapons?

I've had a bit of a thought, as shapeways can print items in stainless steel, would this be an option for building weapons such as spinning discs or others of more exotic design that would otherwise difficult to machine due to complex shape or inexperience, or would the weapon shatter on impact? I k...

Re: New guy in need of help

Thanks, do you think that the name 'Dominant Force' would cause confusion or could I get away with that one?
The walker with wheels idea was for a possible future antweight design.

New guy in need of help

Hello, I have a few questions as to what I should use for my antweight that I am planning on building this year. 1- Would a Spektrum DX7 transmitter and AR7000 receiver be a good choice or would there be a better alternative for a similar or lower price? 2- How much do the names of robots have to be...
