Re: Peter Wallers Robot Ramblings
Excellent, that voice is much better than the Antfreeze one (Sorry John), looks great! Now with added tap-out-ability.

Re: Peter Wallers Robot Ramblings
Excellent work Peter! You know there are dedicated Raspberry Pi header pin breakout boards available which would make that veroboard unnecessary ... Also, can we have a less robotic voice than the Antfreeze one, otherwise, the system works really well! Does it handle tap-out/ surrender function? (No...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
Sorry to hear that it's toasted your weapon motor. I'd recommend the easiest solution - modify the transmitter to have a self-centring channel3 axis. But you could also adjust the limits of the channel, paricularly on retract, so that it won't stall on full power while the stick is down, but will st...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
Good News! Our first batch sold out so quickly, but as of right now, BristolBotBuilders is selling a few more of the "Beta" test units - you can pick one up now if you're quick, https://shop.bristolbotbuilders.com/product/malenki/ We will make more eventually once the kinks are ironed out ...

Re: Can someone walk me through transmitter setup?
Okay, I've built a cardboard test robot for the weird 3-channel brushed ESC I bought. I can use breadboard wires to easily swap the motor leads, and am testing with the Flysky transmitter. It wasn't one of mine was it? Malenki-nano? If so, the mixing is enabled by default but you can turn it off, i...

Re: Help/Build diary for/of my first antweight.
Looks like it will probably work. Check that the servo can run off the maximum battery voltage (e.g. 2S lipo = 8.4v) otherwise you'll blow it. I assume it's a "high voltage" servo, then it will be fine. I see your brown wire - the GND / negative power to the servo - which you've shown goin...

Re: Work in Progress preview: An(t) Object to be Destroyed
Maybe a thin piece of Ti over the lipo, to make things a bit trickier for Shakey if you get drawn against "It's only a drill" ... ?

Nice chamfer around the switch cut-out, makes it harder to get accidentally swiched off. Nice detail.

Re: Work in Progress preview: An(t) Object to be Destroyed
Good to see that you're still building! I have noticed lots of fancy 3d filaments kicking around, but now I've just picked up some bargain-bin Nylon and it seems pretty good. At least, we'll try with the plain Nylon (Nylon 645) and see if that holds up better than the PLA which I used before (and tw...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
That will only happen if: a) The parts are available b) I have a DSM transmitter / receiver to test with Right now I'm still trying to get the previous one working. The radio compatibiility between different chips is an unknown, possibly they will only talk to the same company's devices. The origina...
