Re: Which 3D printer is best for home use

Just looking at the specification, it doesnt look too bad. The minimum wall thickness I noticed, is 0.2mm thinner than shapeways will print, so thats pretty good. The price tag is fairly attractive to. The model printed in the video seems accurate and clean.

Dycem Tired Wheels

Hi there I know a lot of people are using 3D printed wheels on their bots, and I was wondering what you use as tires? I have a fair bit of dycem hanging around, and I was wondering whether it is suitable for use. If so, how do you affix it securely to the actual wheel? If you don't use dycem, what a...

Re: New Robots- Continued

Oh crikey oh blimey mate, as if your robots weren't hard to beat before. Looking very swish, but also fairly solid and bulky, surely that's going to cost a fair bit to shapeways? Yeah the flea was about £30, and I just ran Mantis through and he is gonna be around £70 as he is atm :o Im planning on ...

Re: New Robots- Continued

Hi guys After a fairly long hiatus from robots, I am back armed with google sketchup to finally make some shapeways bots. Over the past few weeks this has been the fruits of my labour http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/3461/59a.png A new chassis for Mantis, Frantic, and a new fleaweight (something I...

Re: antweight and super antweight crushers

I have run a claw robot with fairly decent success since I first started in robotics, and it remains my favourite weapon system by far. I think the main issue by far is that it is extremely difficult to get any power behind a claw to the point where it can do much damage. I have always run Mantis as...

After what seems like decades since I have been to a comp, I will be there with a new mantis. Sounds like it is gonna be a good one!

3d Printing Machines Formlabs

Hi there I didnt know where to post this, but I would really recomend checking this out. We are all familiar with the power of 3d printing in our bots courtesy of shapeways, but after my routine scan of kickstarter I found this absolutely fantastic page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/formlabs/...

Hi there I am selling a few robot bits. Firstly, a hitec laser 4 transmitter, 40mhz.This works perfectly well and is in very good condition. I also have 2 hitec receivers, both with crystals. Secondly, I am also selling a scorpion speed controller. Although this speedo is discontinued it is a good s...

Re: Need: Very fast servo good for CR

Thanks for your advice. I have looked into using some motor drivers and some gearmotors for it, and I will probably just adapt what I saw on a non contact wall follower robot using the same kind of setup. One of the main problems is that I am not fully aware of how you program motors on a picaxe. I ...
